Jim here... We're at an interesting juncture here at Pure Jeevan. For the moment, we're still living a little more "in the box" than we plan to in the near future. One example of this is my personal excitement about Fridays. Oh, I suppose Fridays will always seem special to me somehow. But after years of the corporate routine, Friday remains the most welcome weekday.
Friday signifies the end of the five-day stretch during which most people do whatever they happen to do to pay the bills, to keep (raw!) food on the table, and a roof over their heads. While I know of and admire many people for whom the work week is generally meaningful and rewarding, I suspect that the majority of people go through it simply for the money. Sure, many "like" their job (or, perhaps more aptly, "don't hate it"), but I have met too few who absolutely love their jobs. (Come to think of it, I've met quite a number who actually do hate their work!)
To some, trading five days out of every seven for such security seems fair. It seemed that way to me for far too long. But now I envision something different -- a future in which the day of the week matters very little, if at all. (I say "I envision," and I most certainly *do*. But, for the record, it was Wendi who recognized and understood this possibility many, many years before I did!) So, that's the future we're heading toward at the moment. It's tough to be patient, though, when you see the possibility for a grand future but can't get there until some chains are broken and hurdles cleared (i.e., quitting my job, selling our home). That's okay, though. We're patient, we've set our intention, and we're now clearly in motion toward these new goals!
While Friday remains a day of excitement for me (excited about having free time on the weekend!), I suppose it can also represent a day of reflection. For example, if one really loves one's job (in which case, it really isn't a "job"), then one might take a moment to review the work week and consider the accomplishments made over a recent span.? Even when we both become full-time Pure Jeevan "workers," I suppose we'll maintain certain routines that relate to the traditional work week. For example, we currently publish blog posts daily, Monday through Friday, and we'll no doubt keep that up (likely publishing even more during the week than we do now).
Taking a moment to reflect this Friday (in other words, today), we're struck with some of the major announcements we've made recently. For us, they're quite important! So, we wanted to recap a few of them for anyone catching up on our blog today. The two most important news items were:
-
We announced that our long-planned RV Tour has been postponed.
?
- We announced our search for a new home town. (Still eagerly interested in suggestions!)
We also wanted to take a moment to put the call out again for "Makin' It Monday: Guest Raw Chef Edition" video entries. To date, we've featured two fantastic episodes:
-
Sam from DebbieDoesRaw kicked off the series with a peach pudding recipe.
?
- Melissa from FoodUnderFoot followed up with a raw tortilla recipe.
We've got three more Guest Raw Chef editions on deck at the moment, and we'd love to keep this feature running for as long as possible. So, check out this page for the guidelines as we'd love to feature you here!
That's all for today. We hope you have an awesome weekend!
