Know Any Literary Animal Lovers?

Hi there PureJeevan readers! We wanted to let you know that Jim's new novel CHROO is available on Amazon. It's a crazy adventure involving a billionaire heiress, her Chihuahua BFF ("Chroo") and a host of human and animal characters. Find out more on Amazon! Here are some links:

Pure Jeevan is hitting the road? this weekend, heading to Chicago for some super-double-secret raw business stuff, returning late Monday. (Can't discuss it yet, but it's raw food related and ultra-cool. We'll get to it in due time, I promise.)?

Actually, it's going to be quite an interesting trip, as we have some very serious, very intense work to do in Chicago over the entire weekend, but we're not sure yet whether it'll be Wendi doing the work or me! It all depends on how Wendi feels -- and with Lyme, you just never know. So, one of us will be busy, the other largely free to explore the windy city with KDcaT and Th' Jooge.

So, yes, we'll probably do a few touristy things. But, we're also very interested in visiting some raw destinations. For example, I dropped a line to two well-reviewed raw restaurants this evening: (1) Cousin's Incredible Vitality (requesting time to interview the owner, Chef Mehmet), and (2) Borrowed Earth Cafe (requesting to interview owners Kathy and Danny Living). So, hopefully we'll have an opportunity to connect with them!

I'm not sure on our time schedule yet, but if anyone wants to meet up at one (or both!) of those restaurants, just let me know -- rawdiant [at] gmail.com -- and I'll let you know when we'll be there.

So, who's from Chicago ? What else is great to do there on a very COLD day?

Also, I know I said we wouldn't be back until next Monday night, but that won't stop us from posting something super-cool on Monday. Three local raw foodies -- Joe, Tracey, and Heather -- concocted a rockin' superfood smoothie recipe for Makin' It Monday. So, I'm bringing my laptop with me to Chicago so I can edit and upload that video for you on Sunday night!

WOW........how fun, Jim and Wendi! I spent my 6-8th grade years in Chicago! That is great you will be visiting the Windy City! I ordered some wind over the past several days here in Pittsburgh, not knowing that this would get you primed for where you are headed, esp. this time of year! I remember driving in to visit friends in the early 70's and hit a great big snow storm when I almost reached my destination. Now, don't let that scare you! I lived in Barrington which is northwest of the city, if I remember correctly. I know the museum is really nifty and same with the zoo (but scratch that one off your list for now). It IS a great city to visit, so enjoy! I remember there was a great pizza place and steak house, but those would not be on my list today! Wish I could help out more! Any rate, enjoy yourselves and have the greatest time ever!
