This Tuesday we are pleased to introduce an individual who brings a holistic view to her work and nourishes your body, mind, spirit, and emotions on all levels.

Take the Time to Meet

Leela Mata and her Peaceful Valley Ashram!

Leela Mata is an internationally known spiritual teacher and master of yoga and Ayurveda. She comes from the Sivananda lineage and studied directly under Swami Vishnu Devananda for many years. One of her passions is to teach others about Ayurveda, yoga, and meditation, which takes her all over the world.

Presently, Leela Mata spends many months out of the year teaching at the Yoga-Vidya, the largest ashram in Europe. ?However, most of her time and effort is put into developing an ashram she purchased in June 2006, here in the United States.

The ashram property has unlimited possibilities. It sits on 12 acres with a main house, two large "hub" rooms in the center with cathedral ceilings and a fireplace, two large wings (holding at least 30 individual rooms), spacious rooms for programs, and seven outbuildings that include a gigantic barn that will be ideal for large events.

The main building for the ashram is currently functional and in use. Guests have been visiting and taking part in classes and various therapies that are offered at the ashram. However, the bulk of the ashram still requires a lot of maintenance and renovation in order to fulfill Leela Mata's vision for a retreat that offers health, happiness, creative growth, and self-realization to all.

(KDcat and Karma Yogis)

Pure Jeevan has visited the Peaceful Valley Ashram and Retreat multiple times, always returning with inner peace and direction. Wendi took a ten-day retreat in 2007, during which she worked on a lot of the content for Pure Jeevan's site. Jim has built custom-made bookcases for one of the hub rooms and KDcat has graced the ashram property with the love and energy that only she knows how to spread. The ashram has become our home away from home.

Leela Mata openly invites everyone to come for a visit, to stay for a personal retreat, or to offer assistance in the ongoing work of realizing her dream for a safe haven for those seeking spiritual guidance, rest, knowledge, or a sense of community. Anyone who helps at the ashram is considered a Karma Yogi. In the practice of yoga, one who works for the good of another is producing positive karma. Jim, Wendi, and KDcat have been Karma Yogis and we can tell you that it's a lot of fun! The ashram is always looking for more Karma Yogis, so if you feel drawn to help out, please contact Leela Mata to let her know of your interest.
